Two Little Owls Schoolhouse is seeking to hire teachers for our Toddler and Pre-K classrooms.  All of our classrooms are co-teaching environments at our childcare center in Cambridge, MA.

Positions Available:
Preschool or Pre-K Teacher 
Teacher Assistant (Afternoon) 

Compensation: Depends on experience including generous benefits

Preschool or Pre-K Teacher (Full-time)
Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM OR 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Qualifications:
The Preschool or Pre-K Teacher will have at least an Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and 2 years or more of teaching experience

Teacher qualified (Preschool) as per EEC regulations

Certification in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR (will train if necessary)

CORI/DSS evaluation per EEC guidelines

Evidence of a physical examination within one year prior to employment

Responsibilities:
Plan and implement appropriate activities for the children each week in science, math, multicultural experiences, art, music, language, fine motor and gross motor development

Ensure play equipment and the facility is clean, well maintained and safe at all times

Observe and evaluate each child’s progress, and provide a written report to the director and the parents at least twice during the year

Supervise and meet regularly with teacher assistants

Work cooperatively with other staff members and center families

Be available for parent conferences when necessary

Attend training, monthly staff meetings and parent functions as needed

Make sure that all toys in each room are put away or put back on shelves

Supervise the emptying of the trash cans daily with afternoon staff

Secure the building at the end of the day

Teacher Assistant (Afternoon – Part-Time)
Hours: 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM

Qualifications:
Certification in Infant/Child First Aid and CPR (will train if necessary)

CORI/DSS evaluation per EEC guidelines

Evidence of a physical examination within one year prior to employment

Responsibilities:
Assist the teacher in the supervision of the children, preparation of materials, and observation of individual children. The assistant teacher’s activities each day will be at the discretion of the director or teacher

Ensure play equipment and the facility is clean, well maintained and safe at all times

Work cooperatively with other staff members and center families

Attend training, monthly staff meetings and parent functions as needed

Alert the director when supplies are running low or when toys or equipment are in need of repair

Make sure that all toys in each room are put away or put back on shelves

Handle final clean up at the end of the day (Afternoon Teacher Assistant)
