Music & Movement
The Early Childhood years are the most important years when it comes to musical development because children who play or sing music regularly perform better in reading and math when they begin elementary school. Since playing, singing and dancing to music increases both fine and gross motor skills and helps develop hand-eye coordination, these children are better able to control their bodies. Those actively involved in music also tend to have high self-esteem and are better at playing with others. It is, therefore, important for Two Little Owls Schoolhouse to provide an environment rich with music and movement, to allow for the exploration of musical equipment, and to engage in plenty of diverse, stimulating musical activities.
Big Joe the Storyteller is a frequent visitor to Two Little Owls Schoolhouse. He brings his unique style and big bag of puppets to entertain the children with his original stories.

We participate in several field trips throughout the year such as frequent visits to the Cambridge Public Library, Fire Station, Police Station, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Museum of Science Boston, etc. Read more…

The program is designed for children whose primary language is English and is appropriately and developmentally adjusted for children who are bilingual and native speakers of French. The Language Program at Two Little Owls Schoolhouse is available to our Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Pre-K children, ages 2.9 through 5. The language class meets 5 days a week for 30 minutes each day.
